But there is someone here who apparently was badly hurt by the fact that when I first started getting visions, I was critical and suspicious of them. That person went on to completely abandon the life he's been living here to fully embrace what he saw in his visions, and claims to be ok with the fact that I haven't but also can't stand being around me because I'm not pretending to be the person in his visions.
So it might be a little like that. Some people get really attached to them really quickly.
Really... I hope that was at least before he also spent like a half hour acting like that was all about him. I thought maybe I'd gotten through to him, but he seems to think my career revolves around bothering him specifically.
[pulls up his phone and looks something up and then turns something on and shows her a viewtube clip.
The clip is of Demonic Squid, but it's NOT on his channel, but rather some fanmade montage of a bunch of clips from one of Booker's streams. It's a bit where he pulls up pictures of a BEAUTIFUL FEMALE MODEL (who looks like Yue) and reveals to chat that ACTUALLY he has a CONFIRMED SOURCE that this model is actually secretly a MAN, and while his chat starts to spam commentary about what this means for their sexuality, Squid sighingly tells them that they are all MISSING THE POINT and this is yet another case of MEN TAKING WORK FROM WOMEN.
The video is clipped in such a way that it's obvious back and forth on this went on for probably 20 or so minutes while he riled up and argued with chat, and it's pretty classically just The Kind Of Thing Squid Does. Talks nonsense without blinking, and half of his chat is clearly in on the joke but the other half is getting whatever ideas they had already validated and mounting up to get Justifiably Pissed about something.
But for Catherine, who has heard him stream more than anyone deserves, this is one of countless times he's done something similar. Talking for 2-3 hours a night multiple times a week means a lot of stupid shit gets said on a regular basis.]
[takes his phone back and types in a different search result and just skims through, showing her that much content had been made at Yue's expense]
It got ugly, he dropped out of modeling entirely and started doing what he does now. For whatever reason, he doesn't tell people, but he can't help himself from making it pretty obvious he hates me.
The reason to make amends is you were wrong, it's not about him at all. You assumed things about someone else's gender, and gender is complicated as it is without you setting it on fire. There's plenty of actually shitty lives for you to ruin out there. You could afford to take an L for once, if it's for a good cause.
Anyway, I didn't ask him because I simply can't communicate with him.
I've done lots of wrong things. It isn't bad to have someone to be mad at, anyway. And he doesn't want my apologies.
This isn't the first time this has happened. Even if you asked, he probably wouldn't tell you. But I don't have any advice, I also find him hard to communicate with.
You know there's wrong and there's wrong. I've never lived in a black and white world and I don't think it exists, but it's good to admit when you mess up. It builds character. And I bet it would even bring you views and create controversy. "Demonic Squid has a conscience?!" Your viewers would spike for a while just for admitting one little truth that could save lives.
Personally, I think revitalizing something that's died down so that I can do an apology tour and get some views is sleezier than what started this.
But if you think what he really wants is for me to publicly apologize, get him to admit it to me and I'll think about it. He's had plenty of chances to ask for that himself, though.
I said this isn't about him and I mean it. I don't understand him either. I'm just thinking about the implications of what happened.
What if you find a different way to acknowledge that you don't actually have a problem with non-binary people and you may have been wrong in the past? Completely unrelated. That wouldn't be sleazy.
I've said a dozen times that I don't have a problem with non-binary -- and trans -- people before in various circumstances. Honestly I might have even said so during the original bit.
But that doesn't matter, because riling up narrow minded people for clicks is the job. It will always be the job. The point of the Demonic Squid character is not to be a likeable guy who is right about things.

That guy is pretty delicate. Don't tell me he told you this was a sequel?

I don't fully understand what he thinks.

Re: [267, 7pm]
Anyway, Yue probably isn't as bad as Shasa but he's definitely attached to the visions.
I don't know what all he's seen of you in them, though.
Re: [267, 7pm]
What did you do to him, by the way?
Re: [267, 7pm]
What did he tell you?
Re: [267, 7pm]
He thought I was leaving EmpEnt because of your shorts, and he kept bringing you up even though I never said I knew you.
